One of the first things to be revealed about "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" was just how massive of a world it would have, and with the latest details recently revealed by CD Projekt Red, it certainly appears as though the game is going to deliver what it promised.
Upon seeing the map, players will immediately see that the world of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is divided into three distinct regions. The first of the three regions is the Prologue map, according to Gamespot. As one would expect, this part of the world is where the players will be introduced to the mechanics of the game, and basically where they can familiarize themselves with all the surroundings.
Despite it being the Prologue Map, it's still a pretty massive landmass where players will be spending a lot of time in. Once players are finished with the introductions, they will move on from the Prologue Map and into the main map, or what's known in-game as the Northern Realm.
The Northern Realm is where players will find themselves throughout most of the game, and it simply dwarfs the Prologue Map when a comparison is drawn. The third main region is the Skellige Archipelago, a set of islands found just off the coast of the main map, according to Push Square.
The Skellige Archipelago can only be reached by boat, and most notably, it is also only the place in the game where players will experience any loading screens, according to Game Watcher.
Apart from the three major regions found on the map, there are also the essential locations in-game. Novigrad is the game's main city, and players will obviously be spending a lot of time going back and forth to this place as they make their way through the story.
Aside from what can be seen on the map of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," CD Projekt Red has also said that there are other more magical regions that are still being kept under wraps. These magical regions are expected to play key roles in the game's storyline, so the game's developer is taking special care not to give away any spoilers.
"The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will officially be launched on May 19 for the PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
