Diehard "Bloodborne" fans are privy to all the secret twists and turns, hallways and enemies that are found inside the game, but one thing that has continually intrigued them is one particularly mysterious door, but the mystery ends now.
For fans who may not know all about the mysterious door, it's located at the bottom of the Cathedral Ward in the game. The interesting thing about is that when players interact with it, the game says the door is "closed" as opposed to being "locked" or perhaps the player is opening the door in the wrong direction, according to Eurogamer.
Because of the curious game prompt that came with the "closed" door, players assumed that the door may require a special key to be opened or that maybe it played a role in a still yet to be announced DLC, as a gateway to a magical place maybe.
As it turns out, the answer to the door's mystery was something not quite as exciting as those ideas. It was simply a doorway that led back to the bridge where players fought the Cleric Beast.
The mystery is solved.
The mystery was solved when a player used some shining coins to basically mark the door. The player then made his way to a different area in the Cathedral Ward where he suspected the door led to, and his suspicions were confirmed when the shining coins were there in plain view, according to Kotaku.
It is worth noting that the players still cannot open the door even after figuring out where it led to, according to PSX Extreme.
Theories are now popping up trying to explain why the door is even there and why it doesn't work. At this point, it's logical to assume the door may have initially designed to be used as a shortcut that the game's developers may have neglected along the way.
In any case, the mystery of the "closed" door has been solved.
