The 1993 Toyota Supra that was used in the first Fast and Furious movie is up for auction. The "ten-second-car" was used in the first movie by Paul Walker's character is equipped with a 220-horsepower engine and a nitrous kit for extra speed.
According to Mecum Auctions which is handling the sale of the car, they expect it to be sold for more than $150,000. The auction is scheduled on May 16 at the Indiana Fair Grounds in Indianapolis.
The car that is up for auction though is just one of the several stunt cars created for the movie. Several versions of the car featured in the film are actually made as is customary for movies with car stunts. The actual car that is up for sale was used in shooting the final race scene between Walker and Vin Diesel's character.
Meanwhile, the latest movie, "Fast and Furious 7" released just recently and has done very well in the box office raking in more than a billion dollars worldwide. Walker was able to shoot plenty of his scenes before he passed away. An eighth film in the series has been rumored to be in the works but details are yet scarce.
Fans of the actor and the film franchise would definitely want to have this stunt car in their collection. The iconic race scene near the end of the first movie where this car was used was alluded to in the latest movie as Vin Diesel's character bade goodbye to Walker's. This makes this orange clad Supra very valuable for collectors.
Paul Walker died last December in a car crash involving a Porsche Carrera. The said car where Walker was a passenger slammed into a light pole killing the driver and Walker. The actor is well known for his portrayal of Brian O'Connor in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise.
