China's Apple Xiaomi launches Xiaomi Mi 4i, which comes out with killer features such as 5-inch 1080p IPS display with 445 ppi, Sunlight Display, and many more. The device is set to be released on April 20 in India for a shocking low price of Rs. 12,999 ($205).
Upon its launch, Xiaomi vice president of international operations Hugo Barra said that the Mi 4i "is not a Chinese design that is imported to India, this is a product that is designed with this market in mind."
Xiaomi Mi 4i specs and features
The Xiaomi Mi 4i comes out with 5-inch 1080p IPS display, 178-degree viewing angle, 1.7 GHz octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 13 MP rear camera, and f/2.0 aperture. Further, the device is said to be 32% clearer than the iPhone 6, and boasts 445 pixels per inch more than the iPhone 6 Retina display, which has 326 ppi.
The company also highlights the Mi 4i's Sunlight Display, which can dynamically increase the contrast under bright light on a pixel-by-pixel basis to improve outdoor readability.
Its camera features a high dynamic range (HDR) mode that gives gamma and contrast tuning, color correction, and low-light de-noising. There are also options for focus and depth of field settings after taking a snapshot, and a two-tone flash that can automatically adjust color temperature depending on the hues and natural environment lighting.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i offers a dual-SIM (4G/LTE in both slots), and a 3120 mAh battery life that is said to last for as long as 11 hours of HD video playback or 35 hours of 3G talk time. The battery can be fully charged in under three hours. It also weighs 131 g (4.6 oz) at 7.8 mm (0.3 in) thick, and 16 GB of storage, not expandable.
The phone is run by Google's Android 5.0 OS with MIUI interface. It also adds support for six Indian languages.
Price and release date
Its price is just Rs. 12,999 ($205), and is set to be released beginning April 30 in India.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i is said to be the device that has the first global launching held outside China.
