Patrick Dempsey is moving on after his character has been killed off in Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 21. Fans of the hit tv show mourns over the exit of Dr. Derek Shepherd.
Dr. Derek Shepherd was killed off through an accident, specifically a semi ramming his vehicle. He was pulling into the road when his cellphone buzzed. While he was busy getting the phone, a semi out of nowhere crashed into his vehicle leaving the neurosurgeon braindead. Later on in the show, Grey was by Derek's side remembering their happy moments as Patrick Dempsey's character died.
Dempsey has been with the show from the beginning and his departure has caused pain for plenty of fans, many of which took to social networking sites to voice their opinion about Derek's death. Interestingly though, Dempsey still has a year left on his contract. In January last year, he signed a two-year deal which means he could have been onboard until the 2015-16 season of "Grey's Anatomy".
Fans of the actor though do not have to wait a long time before seeing him back on TV. Dempsey told Entertainment Weekly that he has two shows lined up, "The Limit" for Sundance TV and a travelogue spy thriller called "Fodors".
He also claimed that he wants to do something different leaning towards producing. Also, being a race car driver, he can be seen competing which is something he said he will be focusing on now that he has one project less to worry about.
Next week's airing of Grey's Anatomy would be something to look forward to for fans as ABC has set aside two hours for the show.
