"Game of Thrones" Season 5 will feature more deaths, and one scene in particular will shock fans even more than the infamously brutal Red Wedding scene, according to recent reports.
In a recent interview, Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth in the immensely popular saga, has confirmed Game of Thrones Season 5 will depict a scene that will make the infamous Red Wedding in season three look tame, reported The Independent.
"I would think so, yes," the Irish actor revealed on Sky Atlantic's Thronecast show last week. "It's towards the end of the season and when I got the scripts, when I got to this particular section, I went: 'You've gotta be kidding me.'"
The 53-year-old actor admitted that it's hard to say goodbye to his co-stars whose characters have to be killed off the iconic HBO show. "There are deaths every year, so I'm not giving anything away saying it's horrific when you've spent time with people, and then they're gone," said Cunningham.
Earlier this year, Sansa Stark actress Sophie Turner also warned fans to expect a more "traumatic" Season 5. In an interview with the Huffington Post, the English actress said that the current season will have "some massive moments, perhaps even more shocking than the Red Wedding type of thing."
Turner revealed that there will be "a lot going on this season," as well as "a lot of blood, a lot of death."
Back in February, Game of Thrones writer George R.R. Martin also talked about the surprises that the fifth season will bring to book readers and viewers alike. Speaking at the last Writers Guild of America Awards, Martin - whose bestselling A Song of Ice and Fire novels are the basis of the hit HBO series - revealed, "People are going to die who don't die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy."
He warned fans to "be on their toes" as the GoT co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are "even bloodier than I am."
