Bruce Jenner's Shocking Revelation on ABC: I Am A Woman; Olympian admits suicide attempts

By

Bruce Jenner's life and sexuality has been in the spotlight for a while now. The Olympian recently appeared in an interview with Diane Sawyer which was aired last Friday on ABC. The two-hour special shed light on what Jenner felt when he was growing up and how he felt wanting to be a woman early in life. Sawyer did a great job with the interview allowing Bruce to talk his points out and letting the story come from the man himself.

The must-see TV allowed Bruce Jenner to tell the world how conflicted and complicated his life was before coming out. He had to make sure that his image as an Olympic hero is never tarnished in any way. At the same time, he was yearning to live freely as he wanted to. He also made it clear that his decision to come out is not a Kardashian publicity stunt.

Another revelation was Jenner's contemplating to commit suicide after news broke out about his tracheal shave procedure. The said medical procedure involves trimming down the size of the thyroid cartilage. This is one of the most common surgical procedures that transsexuals go through to transform themselves.

After the interview, a lot of people showed their support for the Olympian. His son Burt though is not too thrilled about all of the people expressing their sympathy and support for Bruce. Burt Jenner, Bruce's oldest son took to Twitter saying: "Having a hard time not putting a few people on blast who were not supporters before hand, but want to act like they were all along."

Bruce Jenner being a transgender is no secret as it has been written about countless of times in recent weeks. But his appearance on the Diane Sawyer interview gave him a great platform to tell his story and he did saying "I am a woman..." The next question now that Bruce Jenner is out is what the Olympian's new name would be.
