Celebrities Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder have officially been declared as husbands and wives on Sunday. The newlyweds requested the guests to donate to the couple's animal rescue charity instead of giving gifts.

A report confirmed that Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder got married last Sunday at Santa Monica, California. The couple are known to have a passion for animals that they have adopted some since they have been in a relationship 9 months ago. This is why they chose not to receive gifts.

WEDDING DETAILS

According to another report, the gorgeous Nikki Reed, 26, wore a white lace long-sleeved gown with a bare back. The Twilight star's curled hair was worn to one side with a diamond clip. Ian Somerhalder, 36, donned a cream suit with a cornflower blue tie. He even had to carry his bride down a slope portion in the mountains of Santa Monica so that Nikki's dress would not get dirty. He was careful about the dress that he was seen picking up its train to keep it from the soil as they held hands. He also tried not to step on the train. The newlyweds were said to look very happy.

Ian Somerhalder was very fond of his wife that despite having photographers around, he was also seen taking pictures of the bride. The The Vampire Diaries star tweeted the following Sunday about having the best morning ever. On Saturday, he posted a picture of him and Nikki lifting weights as if getting ready for their big day.

Almost all of the cast and crew of The Vampire Diaries were said to have attended the ceremonies. A source says even Glee's Lea Michelle and her boyfriend Matthew Paetz were also there.

No official statement has been heard yet from Nikki Reed or Ian Somerhalder regarding their recent marriage who must be busy on their honeymoon.
