Apple's Macbook 2016 tablet laptop will certainly have a clear market, unlike the current MacBook Pro, Air that is neither a laptop, nor a tablet, nor a hybrid. The current released of hybrid tablets like Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and Lenovo Yoga Pro 3 has but intensified the craze for 2-in-1 tablets; and with Apple lacking a device to offer in this market, it couldn't be helped for the brand's supporters to get curious about the possibility of it releasing the same product type.
Would Apple make the MacBook 2016 a hybrid tablet too, one that is ultraportable and also works like a laptop? But isn't the MacBook 2015 already all that? Going by its MacBook name, it definitely is a laptop and its 13-inch, 9 grams weight make it the dream ultraportable device that hybrid tablets are also having now.
"Yet in some ways it isn't a laptop. At least, it is not a traditional laptop. And despite appearances the MacBook isn't a replacement or an alternative to the MacBook Air.
The MacBook sits between the MacBook Air and an upscale iPad tricked out with a Bluetooth keyboard and running OS X."
That is according to an article published on Scoop, an independent news site in New Zealand. The writer of the article made his observation based on his experience using the MacBook 2015 and concludes that it is for Journalists and people that need "more than an iPad and less than a full-blown laptop." As a new class of device, as the writer puts it, the MacBook 2015 has portability, good keyboard, and enough battery life as its strongest features and everything that Journalists will want from a device when working and on the move.
In a review by Tech Times, three Windows hybrid tablets are a standout. These include Microsoft Surface Pro, Dell Venue 11 Pro 7000, and Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi. The Surface Pro 3 is the biggest and most superior hybrid tablet Microsoft has so far created, but needs better keyboard to kill laptop. The Venue 11 Pro 7000 provides more laptop-like experience and with the accompanying keyboard dock and longer-lasting battery makes it better than Surface Pro 3, at least in those respects. The Transformer Book is an impressive hybrid tablet for its versatility in design and good performance. It's a good choice for fulfilling basic computing needs and its "authentically detachable display" makes it more appealing than the Surface Pro 3. In addition, Lenovo's Yoga Pro 3 is also an attractive hybrid tablet with smart software features.
But if there's a feature that is being watched out for to arrive with the MacBook 2016, it is wireless solutions. Given the current MacBook's single-port system and the improvements in existing wireless technologies, it is likely for Apple to highly consider these features in their upcoming devices, including tablet laptops. Apple uses Intel's processors too, the same OS that runs on the Asus Transformer Book with wireless technology support from WiTricity.
