Game of Thrones Manga Covers Released in Japan: GoT Anime may be Possible Soon? George R.R. Martin Speaks

By

Japan strikes again with its very own rendition of George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. In this manga version of the popular series would allow the fans to see their beloved "Game of Thrones" characters in their anime counterparts.

The Japanese publishing company Hayakawa had commissioned the manga-ka Noriko Meguro to artistically recreate the characters from the popular series and have them set as covers for the book. And as expected, it yielded awe-mazing badass results.

To come in a huge 12 volume package, given that the original books are really long, the manga version of the story had brought the entire series to life and made each character and event jump out of the covers each time you stare at them.

The covers created by Meguro highlighted a lot of interesting events from the series and had captured each character the way they really are. Let's take for example the anime counterpart of the Mother of Dragons "Daenerys Targaryen" whose cover according to Nerdist featured boob shots just "because that's just how the world works when it comes to her," although, her profile together with her dragons and platinum hair is already enough to highlight her character.

The cover for Samwell Tarly, especially his pose that gives out a "don't mess with me" aura seemed to capture his profile accurately as he combats white walkers with his dragonglass. But what many fans find funny and at the same terrifying is the rendition of Tyrion Lannister, whose get up seems to be a cross between a stunty Varys and Humpty Dumpty, a sure token for a nightmare at night. Even the oblivious Jon Snow had earned its place in the cover with all his crow feathers to complete the set. There are even several renditions for his character as compared to other characters in the series.

With the manga version on the way, fans can only hope that an anime series would soon come our way.

Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones Season 5 is now in the run with a mysterious prophecy as a season starter.
