Director Bryan Singer has released a new "mutation" from the picturesque X-Men: Age of Apocalypse set yesterday. This time however, it was an "official" photo of Sophie Turner (Game of Thrones) as Jean Grey and newcomer Lana Condor as Jubilee.
Both actresses sported a blast-from-the-past fashion on Singer's Instagram account. Turner had a laid-back ensemble pairing a striped grey cotton sweater tucked in a Jordache-inspired jeans. Condor's apparel was overly bright and vivid as her appearance was framed to match Jubilee's iconic yellow jacket look. Both girls though had big, curly, and heavily stylized hairdos.
If fans are wondering why all these overly bright and vivid apparels that the new cast members are wearing for the upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, it is because the said movie has jumped a decade forward from 2014's X-Men: Days of Future Past which was set then in 1973. Fans will be looking forward for the rest of the cast to be sedated in 80s vogue with women donning short, tight spandex mini-skirts while men will rock a pair of Reebok classics on their feet.
The 49-year-old director also took to Instagram when TV presenter Olivia Munn nabbed the role to play Psylocke. It was not just Singer who was ecstatic about giving updates using social media; some fans had a couple of blurry smartphone snaps that made their way to the internet. The shot depicted what seem to be a mall scene were teenagers Ty Sheridan (Cyclops) and Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler) showing off a new ruby quartz visor and a Michael Jackson red Thriller jacket respectively. They are also joined on the set by Turner and Condor.
The sequel hit theaters in May 2016. This will be the last in the trilogy as it brings back James McAvoy as Professor X, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Evan Peters as Quicksilver, Lucas Till as Havok and Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert.
