Criminal Minds Season 10 ends next week with Kate's niece Meg and her niece's best friend kidnapped by an online predator posing as a teen boy and selling victims to serial killers.
Orphan Meg has been stalked by the online predators for a while and was nearly kidnapped in an earlier episode. The Internet stalker finally getting his hands on Kate's family might prove too much for the newbie FBI profiler, if the video teaser is any indication.
TV Line released the episode promo video showing Kate fainting at the end and fuelling speculations that Jennifer Love Hewitt who plays Kate in the series, might be leaving at the end of the season.
But Criminal Minds Executive Producer Erica Messer was earlier quoted saying that the cast - Thomas Gibson (Hotch), Matthew Gray Gubler (Spencer Reid), Joe Mantegna (David Rossi), Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan), A.J. Cook (JJ Jareau), Kirsten Vangsness (Garcia), and Hewitt (Kate Callahan) - will remain intact as there will be no major deaths at the end of Season 10.
"We're not doing a two-hour finale this year, but the end of episode 22 will have a cliffhanger that will play out in episode 23, which is our finale this year," Messer told Zap2it.
"We will bring back the creepy, Internet stalker guy from the premiere. That story will be tied together," Messer adds.
Messer did say however that the finale "will be a very heavy episode for Kate," the newbie to the Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU).
Enstars also reports that Hewitt, whose real-life pregnancy was written into the show, "might like to take a year off to be with her newborn child, and might want to take a break from working."
Season Finale "The Hunt" will have Greg Grunberg playing Chris Callahan returning as Kate's husband.
Criminal Minds Season 10 Finale Episode will air on Wednesday, May 6 at 9pm on CBS Television.
