An Android 5.1 update is now available for at least three devices: Samsung Galaxy S4, Moto G, and the HTC One. The Android 5.1 will also bring back the "Guest Mode" feature in Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices and it will allow a single device to be used by multiple users. The updated Dolphin Browser version 11.4.9 brings smarter downloads, enhanced connectivity, Flash game mode, and others.
Android 5.1 update for Galaxy S4, Moto G, and HTC One
For the Galaxy S4 owners, they can now have the CM 12.1 series custom ROM from CyanogenMod, which is based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) 5.1 Lollipop. The features that will be included in the Galaxy S4 Lollipop update are the Boxer email app that has multiple user support, capability to customize sound notifications, and different LED color arrangements.
Moto G users can also have CM12.1 series custom ROM, but will only be available for Moto G Peregrine 4G versions (XT1039, XT1040, and XT1045). It is advised to check the device's version number first.
Owners of the HTC One M7 can choose two available ROMS. The one is the unofficial CM 12.1 ROM that will come out this early month. The other is by getting it from TeamUB ROM.
Android 5.1 brings back "Guest Mode" and updated Dolphin Browser v. 11.4.9
Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge devices running an Android 5.1 are going to have the "Guest Mode" feature, which will allow a single unit to be used by multiple users. The "Guest Mode" feature was first included in the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and was then made exclusive to tablets. Now that the feature is brought back, it would reportedly elevate Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices among Android-run units. Further, it is said that there is a "good chance that this feature might make it to other Samsung devices in the near future."
Users who have Android 5.1-run devices can also expect an updated Dolphin Browser version 11.4.9. This will make browsing experience to be more stable, smoother than ever, and the blank screen and flash issues fixed.
The latest Dolphin version will allow users to save data usage for important situations, since the app will limit downloading files to Wi-Fi only. In addition, bandwidth costs could also be reduced as well as battery usage. To enable smarter downloads, owners can go to Settings>Downloads and choose "Download files on Wi-Fi only."
Other features that the Dolphine Browser will include are the "Flash Game Mode," smarter keyboard, added weather icon, Google account login support, remembering login details, easier clearing of browsing history, and double tapping on the tab to ease closing tabs.
