B.B. King, the King of Blues and 30-time Grammy Nominee, has currently updated his website stating that he is currently under hospice care in his residence in Las Vegas. Furthermore, his daughter Patty King called authorities to report that his father was being abused by Laverne Toney, B.B. King's long-time manager and caretaker.
The Blues legend announced via his website seeking the continued support and prayers of his fans as he is currently under hospice care after he was brought to the Last Vegas hospital last Thursday. Reports indicated that BB King was dehydrated and refused to eat while staying at his Las Vegas home.
According to reports, Patty King, BB's daughter, allegedly called the attention of police as she visited her father during the said day. Due to the fact that her father refused to eat and that his urine was orange in color, Patty felt that his father was not in a healthy state.
Despite the obvious need for medical attention, Patty states that her father's long-term manager, Laverne Toney, refused to bring her father to the hospital. As much as Patty would want to take care of her father, Toney was the sole person who has special power of attorney over the care of B.B. King. Furthermore, as Toney refused, Patty called the authorities to urge them to arrest Toney for adult abuse and to bring her father to the hospital as soon as possible.
Upon arrival at the hospital, reports indicated that B.B. King suffered a minor heart attack according to Patty King. Furthermore, she also took a picture of her father lying in a bed, weakly and bed-ridden, to convey a message to the authorities that he is, indeed, in need of protection and help. This indicated that Patty was attesting Toney's failure to keep her father healthy.
Additionally, Patty King and her boyfriend filed charges of elder abuse and burglary against Laverne Toney for allegedly swindling about $20-30 million of B.B. King's assets, withholding on medical assistance for the latter while he was touring, and for stealing several jewelery from her father comprising of Rolexes and a ring valued at $250,000.
