Windows 10 Updates: PC First Policy may Get Your Smartphone Upgrade Late 2015; Plus the Dangers of a FREE OS

By

Windows 10 is changing the business landscape this 2015 and for the years to come making everybody hopeful. The announcements made during Microsoft's recent Build conference in California is clearly geared towards making the Redmond, Washington tech giant win big not only in the PC market but also and perhaps more importantly this time into the smartphone market - where its presence is hardly felt.

However, even with this roll out, certain details may have escaped the general public. First, on the reality that smartphones may get the updates late 2015. Secondly, the free OS from Windows may have some hidden marketing ploy that could translate to the consumer paying even more. As the saying goes in business: No such thing as free lunch.

By now, both Google and Apple should be back to the drawing boards recalculating the risk of the Windows 10 threat which if successful could win back gazillions of fans to Microsoft's fold with its trust to get a lion share from both the iOS world and Android universe

Though it was clear that apps and games from both iOS and Android maybe ported with minimal difficulty, it has also been emphasized by Microsoft executives that smartphones are not their immediate priority. Rather it is the PC market that will be getting the Windows 10 OS upgrade/update.

In specific fashion, Microsoft's Joe Belfiore details during the Build Conference saying: "Our phone builds have not been as far along as our PC builds." Further he disclosed that, "We're adapting the phone experiences later than we're adding the PC experiences."

With that said, it should be obvious that smartphones and the rest of the gang will get the Windows 10 release at a later point in time, most probably in late 2015. It will most likely depend on how smooth the PC release will take place.

If recent Android and iOS updates are to be our key benchmarks, Windows 10 for PC may take some time to be consummated. Of course, things could go for the better.

Also, another key feature could cast a fearsome scenario for many. This is with regards to a hidden marketing ploy that may transpire over time with Microsoft's free OS program.

To note, Microsoft has won everybody's heart in one bold stroke: posing the Windows 10 release as free for everybody. Not just licensed Microsoft software but for even those who have gotten the pirated version of Windows.

Definitely, such a marketing 'free lunch' are scaring the wits of many Microsoft fans and pundits who have experienced underhanded tactics from the tech giant. Classic example lately: the KB3035583 optional patch that has been pushed by Microsoft as a Windows update "to enable capabilities in Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 SP1."

It is marketed as a helping hand but underhandedly it also create four folders that help push Windows 10 adverts - acting like adware in true form. And what is especially concerning is that we're talking about a licensed Windows 7 OS that has a 2020 end-of-life date.

Needless to say, such smart tactics could trigger some red flags. Nevertheless, we can't help but wish Windows 10 arrive sooner.
