Red Dead Redemption 2 is definitely one of the many games fans continue to hope for. Rockstar has released the original title five years ago already, but there is still no word from the developer about a sequel really happening.
Nonetheless, a rumor that has kept loyal players excited would be the post from AnonDN1978, who is a developer. He revealed the supposed title of the sequel as a way to go against his boss, whom he hates. This information was leaked on Reddit, with the title being, "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West."
Until now, Rockstar still has not confirmed this rumor or any other matter related to having a sequel. Albeit, the developer is very happy with the support being given by gamers with the statement, "It's wonderful to see so much excitement and enthusiasm for the 'Red Dead' series, and nearly 5 years after Red Dead Redemption's release."
Breathecast continued the message from the developer, "When asked in the past about new games in other series such as 'Red Dead Redemption,' 'Bully,' and 'L.A. Noire,' we don't always rush to make sequels." This implies that there is still a possibility, and patience will pay off.
Strauss Zelnick, who is Rockstar's CEO, had an interview on VG 24/7 where he said that while they only release games once every year, the aim is to end up with a permanent franchise. Certainly, both the GTA and Red Dead games are being described here.
An avid gamer from MoviePilot also shows his hope for more to come from the Red Dead series, as he even asserts certain aspects that make the title better than the Grand Theft Auto series. Specifically, the article mentions how the former title has more realistic characters, whereas the latter tends to feel like a parody.
As of now, there are barely any official statements about Red Dead Redemption 2. Gamers should keep their fingers crossed that Rockstar gives an update on the title during the upcoming E3 2015.
