Avengers Age of Ultron Alternate Ending: Quicksilver Never Meant to Die, New Ending Shows Character Alive and Kicking

By

In an alternate universe, well, maybe just the alternate ending of the Avengers: Age of Ultron, Quicksilver is apparently alive and well.

Alternate endings are that way for a reason, and that's because they were simply never meant to be, and when it cames to Avengers: Age of Ultron, it looks as though Quicksilver can only live on in the hopes, dreams, and DVD copies of the people who knew him.

According to the film's director, Joss Whedon, Quicksilver was never meant to die, and some of the scenes shot for the film even show as much. In those scenes, Quicksilver survives the would-be fatal gunshots that should have taken his life, and even shows up near the end to appear alongside his sister, according to Cinema Blend.

Quicksilver evens shows up to the grand, heroic reunion at the end wearing a new costume, according to Joss Whedon. Alas, the movie will show Quicksilver has died, and his death is symbolic, according to the director, a tribute to the horrors of war depicted in the film. At that point, having Quicksilver survive would not have been more than just asking to take a leap of faith in imagining he somehow survived all those fatal gunshots, but also that war only hurts the bad guys.

Deleted scenes will be included in the Blu-Ray release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the film's alternate ending complete with Quicksilver could be on there, according to Comic Book. In news of another nixed plan for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Grey Hulk was also reportedly discussed for a cameo in the film, according to Slash Film.

Grey Hulk would have apparently emerged as a side effect of Bruce Banner completely losing control over his destructive alter-ego, but the plans were axed at the last moment, citing that the Grey Hulk actually represents a more controlled version of the superhero, and would have thus been misrepresented.

Of course, the Grey Hulk could simply pop up in the next movie from the Marvel universe.
