Mortal Kombat X game developers NetherRealm and High Voltage Software had rolled out a patch for the PC version of the game with the hope of being a match to its other console counterparts. However, many players have reported that the game had been suffering game crashes and deleting data which includes the unlocked characters and game progress. These reports had made Warner Bros. to pull out the Mortal Kombat X patch.
The PC version, although highly anticipated was indeed a risky choice for the game according to some reports. This is mainly due to the developers. According to Lazy Gamer, High Voltage has been notorious in making bad ports for games which lead for Konami to look for a new game developer to fix the bad port.
In the earlier versions of the update, the patch for the Mortal Kombat X had experienced a lot of issues. However, the recent roll-out through Steam also proved to be suffering from some issues as well. The new update was allegedly deleting the save data of the players. Unlocked characters were also inaccessible and there was even a reset in the game's Krypt.
The patch was considerably large, sizing up to 15 GB and requiring another 15 GB update to revert to the previous version.
It led to the pull out announcement and investigation by Warner Bros.
"We are temporarily removing the patch until we can pinpoint the cause of save data loss," Warner had posted in Steam. "We are actively working on this and will keep everyone posted as we work towards a fix. We sincerely apologize for this disruption."
The patch hit as a disappointment to many gamers given that the Mortal Kombat X installment is actually a pretty interesting game. The game is said to feature the popular horror persona, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th.
Let us just hope that Warner Bros as the game publisher will be able to release a new Mortal Kombat X PC Patch update. We are hoping that the next patch update will be able to solve the game crashes and data deletion, especially since Mortal Kombat is considered as a gaming classic.
