iPhone 6 Plus continues to take the lead in the phablet market, but with the imminent arrival of Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Apple might have to give up the throne. The 5th Gen of Galaxy Note is expected to feature powerful specs with creative technology, posing as a real threat to 6 Plus.
Currently, iPhone 6 Plus is dominating the phablet market, taking 44 percent of sales in the US during the last quarter, reported CNET. One of the major reasons for its success is its 5.5 inches screen size, which is Apple's answer to consumers who beg for bigger screens. It is for this that the company was able to recapture its success after Samsung successfully swept the smartphone landscape, being the prime to push for wider screens.
The success of the iPhone 6 plus has also prompted users to switch from Android to iOS. This was boasted by Apple CEO Tim Cook in a statement.
"We're seeing a higher rate of switchers than we've experienced in previous iPhone cycles," said Cook.
With iPhone 6 and 6 Plus taking relishing unparalleled success today, rumors about the coming of Samsung Galaxy Note 5 continue to heat up. Although there is still plenty of mystery about the Samsung's flagship device, speculations continue to leak regarding its release date, specs, and carriers, reported GottaBeMobile.
According to the Korean publication Daum, Samsung might consider an earlier release date for Note 5, and if the rumor is correct it will be this August, which is a month earlier than the release of Note 4. The 5th gen Note is believed to feature a cosmic-size display of 6-inch Ultra HD screen at 700+ pixels per sq. inch. The UHD delivers a staggering 2160 x 3840 resolution. This is way higher compared to iPhone 6 Plus' 5.5 inches screen with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution at 401 pixels per inch, which is the best offering in terms of display in the market today.
In the meantime, there is very scant information regarding the design of Note 5. Although we saw some making rounds, they do not come from Samsung so that remains unknown at the moment. However, considering their innovation for Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, it is possible that they will tap into the same inspiration.
