‘Daredevil’ Season 2 Update: Charlie Cox Wants Spider-Man to Guest in the Show; Matt Murdock’s Suit to Evolve

By

It has been previously reported that the web television series "Daredevil" has been renewed for season two, and to give some impressions on the upcoming season, Charlie Cox or Matt Murdock himself talked about his hopes for the new sequel, his liking for fellow Marvel character Spider-Man to appear, his expectations for the characters to come back and many more. Cox also dished out his aspirations for his iconic suit.

It was just last month that the new season of "Daredevil" has been green-lit. Matt Murdock's crime fighting scenes will still continue as Doug Petrie (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, American Horror Story) and Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy), who both worked closely with Executive Producers, will be the showrunners for new season.

And while it's finally happening, Charlie Cox sat with IGN to dish out his thoughts for the show. Cox told that the showrunners will continue the universe established on the first season. He also hinted his character Matt Murdock's evolution from a rookie fighter to the best one. "By the end of the show he's getting smarter, he's training, he's getting stronger and he's honing his skills as it were, so when we get to the second season we'll probably see it go further in that direction," he spoke.

Likewise, fans might be seeing more of Bullseye, The Punisher, and Elektra in the second season. And to get them more excited, Cox also expressed his gusto for his red suit to evolve. "At this point we don't have the 'DD' on the chest so maybe that's something that will evolve with this suit as we go further along the line. Maybe he'll decide to get that printed on," he hinted.

The "The Theory of Everything" actor has also been vocal about expressing his desire for his character to have a scene with Spider-Man in the show. Since "Daredevil" is owned by Marvel and Spider-Man is finally back at the arms of the studio, it may or may not happen. In the comics, Cox's character has often teamed up with his other New York City superhero Spider-Man.

During an interview with MTV News, the actor must have probably done his homework as he told what scene of them he would want to appear in the show. "I'd love to see Peter Parker and Daredevil hang out. There's a wonderful issue of the comics where Matt Murdock has to defend Daredevil, because the public don't know, and so he has Peter Parker put on his Daredevil outfit so that he can sit in the docks," he mused. Cox is also saddened that his dear friend Andrew Garfield has been axed to portray the next Spidey.

Since Spider-Man will be having his appearance on "Captain America: Civil War" in 2016 and on his solo "Spider-Man" reboot in 2017, Marvel and Sony have been selecting young actors to fit to the role. HNGN speculates that it's unlikely to happen since Spider-Man is a blockbuster film property. However, there may be a chance for that to happen but not very soon. Reports say that it will possibly be after season two, and if ever the show will have new seasons.

"Daredevil" Season 2 Shooting and Release Date Revealed

Moreover, the actor also spoke with Empire about the shooting schedule and the possible release date for the second season. "We'll begin shooting [Daredevil's second season] in the second half of the year. It'll be the same timeline as the last show," he said. The actor continued that the show would probably come out before summer next year.

And while his thoughts are very stimulating for fans, he emphasized that he was just speculating on what the next season could bring to viewers. Nevertheless, it gave fans some kind of hope in the least, didn't it?

For now, let's wait for the official word from Netflix execs on what the season two will all be about. Make sure to watch the season one as it is still currently streaming on the web network. Don't forget to share us your views today!
