Lenovo LaVie Z Laptop Is The New Apple MacBook Killer

By

Armed with powerful features and ridiculously light frame, Lenovo's LaVie Z laptop poses a real threat to MacBook's reign in the light and swelte technology. Is it time to say goodbye to Apple's Mac?

Although its 0.7 width cannot beat MacBook's 0.52 inch maximum thickness, it sure does beat it when you gauge them by their weight. The LaVie Z's magnesium-lithium frame affords it with only 1.87 pounds weight, as compared to the almost 3 pounds of the 13.3-inch MacBook Air. The new MacBook comes close with a little over 2 pounds, reported ZDNet.

Weight isn't all there is in Lenovo's boast. Its new laptop houses a premium fifth gen Intel Core i7 processor and the Lavie Z 360 edition has the capacity for 360 degrees fold. It also has a superb resolution of 2,550x1,440 for its 13.3-inch screen. The new MacBook has 2,304x1,440 and the MacBook Air has 1,440x900. Moreover, Lenovo has endowed it with touchscreen capacities to its display.

So what's the catch? Because it sports more power and versatility, you can expect to pay more. The standard Lenovo LaVie Z is priced at $1,499 while the LaVie Z 360 is $200 more. That is actually even more expensive than the new MacBook which you can purchase for $1,299 for the low-end model, reported Business News Daily. What you get though for the price is a faster CPU (Intel Core i7), 8GB RAM, and 256GB solid-state drive storage.

The new MacBook offers only a single USB C port, which isn't compatible with most devices, thus you would need for an adapter. The LaVie Z gives you two USB 3.0 ports, and one HDMI port to connect to a monitor for desktop use, reported Christian Today.

If you would like to take advantage of a powerful and versatile machine, then go get a Lenovo LaVie Z for yourself and enjoy the ultra-light advantage. You cannot get anything better-that is, if you don't mind paying as much.
