Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge's curved display went through 3D Thermoforming
The Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge both came out with awesome specifications and features, especially when Samsung rolled out an S6 with curved displays. The flexible AMOLED panels use a plastic substrate in order to make it capable to bend to the sides while displaying clear imagery.
How Samsung does it is through a homemade technology, called as 3D Thermoforming. This places the reinforced glass between two moulds, heats it up, and then pressing it into symmetrical shapes as seen in the sides of the Galaxy S6 Edge.
Samsung released a video showing how this is done.
