Samsung will be releasing Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with Iron Man-themed versions on May or June. Further, a teardown recently revealed that some Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge rear cameras either have Sony's impressive IMX240 sensor or Samsung's killer ISOCELL.
Though the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge devices were amazing, problems were still found in the device such as battery life, memory leak problems, Bluetooth issues, and many more.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge with Iron Man versions
In partnership with Marvel, Samsung is going to release "Iron Man versions" of Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge in order to promote the "Avengers: Age of Ultron." The two Iron Man-clothed Galaxy devices are going to be released around May or June. Samsung's Lee Young-hee reportedly said, "The color of the new Iron Man phones will be red. We will decide on other details soon after discussions with Marvel Studio. It will be released either at the end of May or early June."
The company believes that teaming up with major content providers such as Marvel Entertainment will help boost Samsung's brand awareness as a futuristic and innovative product company. Further, the company perceives that collaborating with Marvel will give Samsung an opportunity to showcase their products, together with Marvel films.
The "Avengers: Age of Ultron" movie featured a variety of Samsung product such as tablet, PC, and the two flagship carriers.
Some Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge rear cameras have Sony's IMX240 sensors
Recently, a teardown revealed that both Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge use the Sony IMX240 sensor on the rear camera. Though there are some Galaxy devices that use Samsung's native ISOCELL, others want to know as to why the Korean company is using two sensors. It is speculated that the sensors depend on the region, yet it is still unconfirmed. As far as the performance is concerned, using Sony's IMX240 gives quality shots. Nevertheless, tech reviewers still want to know the difference between the two sensors.
Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge problems
Though despite being impressive devices, a number of users complained about some problems experienced especially while using Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge:
- Battery life easily drains
- Bluetooth problems in cars
- Problems rotating the Galaxy S6 Edge screen
- Signal problems
- Galaxy S6 Edge not turning on
- No personal hotspot shortcut in AT&T Galaxy S6 Edge and no hotspot widgets
- Occasional app crash
- Memory leak problem (as confirmed by Samsung)
Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners will have to wait for updates to fix every device problems.
