After a decade of waiting, "The Incredibles" is surely coming back on big screens! Writer/director Brad Bird already confirmed about the sequel of "The Incredibles" and said that he was starting to write it. Looks like the Parr family will show again their incredible superpowers! The plot was reported to be focusing on Jack-Jack and his uncontrolled superpowers which surpass the strength of his parents as well as his siblings.
Bob Iger, Disney CEO has just announced that Pixar will develop two more sequels after confirming the upcoming "Finding Dory" and "Toy Story 4" sequels. And these are speculated to be "The Incredibles" and "Cars 3."
In one of Brad Bird's interviews, he then spoke of the latest status of "The Incredibles 2" and said "I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie. I'm just focusing on getting Tomorrowland out into the world and playing with the Incredibles sandbox again."
While Bird was preparing for the "Tomorrowland" movie, he was asked by Lucasfilm to direct Star Wars: Episode VII but politely decline its offer because he'd want to focus on his latest projects (Tomorrowland, The Incredibles 2). Still, Bird said he is not closing his doors on the Star Wars movie and said that the idea of the trilogy (Star Wars) was exciting, but he still got The Incredibles and was already writing about it. He then explained that he has other things to do as well.
"The Incredibles 2" will be having no additional special effects, as Brad Bird wants the movie to focus on the Parr family and its characters. Also, a new villain will be included who will mentor Jack-jack on how to be a super villain.
There is no reported director yet for the sequel of "The Incredibles," but Pixar said that the release date might be in 2017 or 2018.
