Hot new details on Tom Clancy's The Division release has surfaced online revealing that the game developer, Ubisoft, has recruited another developer to hasten the development of its upcoming open-world third person shooter role-playing game to Xbox One, PS4 and PC platforms.
Ubisoft Annecy, one of its studios, who is also behind Assassin's Creed II and Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow's multiplayer, is now working on Tom Clancy's The Division.
"The team in Annecy is delighted to be collaborating with Massive, Red Storm and Reflections on Tom Clancy's The Division," says Ubisoft Annecy Studio Manager Rebecka Coutaz.
"We are bringing our previous experience in multiplayer online games and this project is allowing us to build our technical knowledge in other areas and become experts on this incredible brand. The collaboration with the other studios is going very smoothly, and we're working together to ensure we meet and exceed the high expectations players have for this new title," Coutaz added.
Tom Clancy's The Division has now four team of developers which is lead by Massive Entertainment and then by Red Storm who worked on games such as Ghost Recon: Future Soldiers. Ubisoft Reflections recently worked on The Crew, a racing game.
The company didn't reveal about what role should Ubisoft Annecy be doing in The Divisionbut it makes sense that they might be contributing to developing the game's online multiplayer as we can see from Coutaz' statements.
Tom Clancy's The Division was announced at E3 2013 and made an instant fame in the gaming community. It was initially scheduled to be released in 2014 but the developer decided to delay it to 2015. In February, Ubisoft confirmed that will be released this year along with Assassin's Creed and Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, though a specific release date has not been announced.
Because of the long delay of its release, it got a place as one of the biggest game delays in 2014 by The Gist, along with the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt developed by CD Projekt Red, Battlefield Hardline by Visceral Games, The Order: 1886 by Ready at Dawn, Evolve by Turtle Rock Studios, and Batman: Arkham Knight by Rocksteady Studios.
With this latest development, Ubisoft is indeed serious to deliver its promise to the fans that Tom Clancy's The Division is pushing a 2015 release to PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
