Charlize Theron becomes a spy in the action thriller "The Coldest City" to be helmed by "John Wick" directors, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski. With the current project of the duo, it seems "John Wick" fans will have to wait a little longer before seeing the movie's sequel.
"The Coldest City" is a film adaptation of Antony Johnston's 2013 graphic novel about a skilled intelligence operative who will be portrayed by Charlize Theron. Her service will be needed after an MI6 spy was killed right before the fall of the Berlin Wall. Her duty involves tracking down a list that the murdered spy was smuggling to the West to avoid the imminent danger involving her and other spies. Soon, double-crossing agents will surface as global agendas become evident.
David Leitch and Chad Stahelski will be directing Theron based on Kurt Johnstand's screenplay. The two directors are clearly on the spotlight at the moment after their magnificent work in "John Wick," which serves as a memorable comeback for Keanu Reeves in the action genre.
However, since "The Coldest City" will start filming on October in Germany, Leitch and Stahelski will have to push "John Wick 2" to a delay. Lionsgate has already announced that they are pursuing a "John Wick" sequel, following the success of the first film. The Keanu Reeves-starrer earned fans and critical support upon its release, which makes the sequel almost a no-brainer
Aside from "John Wick," Leitch and Stahelski is also helming the film adaptation of another graphic novel titled, "Bloodshot." Like her directors, Theron also has her hands full with her big screen return in "Mad Max: Fury Road" opposite Tom Hardy. The movie is the fourth installment in the "Mad Max" franchise.
Charlize Theron is set to team up with "John Wick directors" David Leitch and Chad Stahelski for "The Coldest City," a spy thriller based on Antony Johnston's graphic novel. The shooting of the film will inevitably cause delay on the release of "John Wick 2," which is also helmed by in-demand directors Leitch and Stahelski.
