"Castle" fans have a lot of rejoicing to do, as ABC recently announced that the series will be renewed for season 8. Stana Katic also confirmed that she will be back on set as Detective Kate Beckett, putting to rest all speculations in the past couple of months that she will no longer be reprising her role for the next season.
On May 13, Katic delivered the good news on her official Twitter account: "I'm so pleased to announce that, after talking with our new show runner, Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley (both of whom I've had the pleasure of working with on the show before) I'm excited about the future plans for Beckett and delighted to be returning for a Season 8 of Castle."
Katic previously hinted that she would no longer be reprising her role as Beckett in "Castle" and said that the show should not "overstay its welcome." The actress also posted 24 behind-the-scenes photos to celebrate the filming of the last two episodes of the series.
Now that Katic has renewed her contract for the show, what does season 8 hold for Beckett and Castle? Miller and her husband, Andrew Marlowe also announced that they would be leaving the series after season 7. "Castle" season 8 will now have new show runners, Terence Paul Winter and Alexi Hawley, following David Amann's exit in season 7.
