A Reddit user, Android Leak, said that Motorola was testing on three new devices with model numbers: XT1578, XT1585, and XT192A within or around Chicago. These three devices were said to have QHD displays, in which one of them was the expected Moto X (3^rd Gen). More leaks also showed the specs and camera features of the upcoming Moto X (3^rd Gen) showing an Android 5.1.1 OS, 5.2-inch AMOLED Panel, QHD resolution, Optical Image Stabilization, 4K Recording at 30 FPS, 1080p Recording at 60 FPS, 120 FPS, and many more.

A table would show the difference between Moto X (1^st Gen), Moto X (2^nd Gen), and Moto X (3^rd Gen).

The specs and features of the upcoming Moto X (3^rd Gen) was previously leaked by alleged insider sources, which showed the device having an Android 5.1.1 OS, 5.2-inch AMOLED Panel, QHD resolution, 5 MP front camera, 16 MP rear camera with Clear Pixel Technology, Snapdragon 808 processor, 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB or 64 GB storage option, and 3280 mAh battery.
