'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One' to star Diego Luna and Felicity Jones; Plot leads to Luke Skywalker

Movie director Gareth Edwards announced the additional casts for the 'Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One.' It was already confirmed that Felicity Jones is getting the lead role, as well as Riz Ahmed and Ben Mendelsohn. Recently, Diego Luna's name surfaced and will also be part of the lead cast.

The casts have their particular role already. As for Jones, Luna and Ahmed, they are part of the rebel group while Mendelsohn will be the main villain of the film. There was comment though from Disney and Lucasfilm with regards to the casting. At the recent Star Wars Celebration convention which was held in Anaheim, Gareth Edwards disclosed the plot of "Rogue One." He then said that it revolves around a group of rebel soldiers to steal the Death Star plans.

The first 'Star Wars Anthology' movie, Rogue One is set in the universe of Star Wars. The movie isn't really about the main story, but the characters will find their way to Luke Skywalker.

As for the lead casts, Felicity Jones is an Academy Award nominee for 'The Theory of Everything' while Diego Luna, was involved in directing art films in Mexico, his native land. Recently, Luna's project was 'Blodd Father' with Mel Gibson, and his latest work is 'Mr. Pig' which was directed, wrote and produced by Luna.

Reports said that the casting of the movie will be like "Saving Private Ryan" and "The Dirty Dozen." Scoring the film will be Alexandre Desplat (Godzilla) and the cinematographer will be Greig Fraser (Zero Dark Thirty). Completed by Chris Weitz (About A Boy, Cinderella, Antz) the script was first written by Gary Whitta.

Executive produced by Simon Emanuel and John Knoll and Jason McGatlin,and produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Tony To and John Swartz, 'Star Wars: Rogue One' will start shooting in London this summer and will be released on the 16th of December 2016.
