Upcoming iPhone 6s still poses a terrible battery life, but who cares?

By

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently gave a research note to investors that revealed big changes to be implemented in Apple's upcoming iPhone 6s. However, one feature was not mentioned that was deemed to be the "No. 1 thing people are concerned."

Massive iPhone 6s leak

In Ming-Chi Kuo's note, he gave, what others call, a "massive" 10 features expected to be included in the device:

1. Force Touch: The technology was said to be the "biggest upgraded selling point," which was set to improve user experience because of its added input methods and support of handwritten signatures. However, the technology would also be one of the "bottlenecks" of the supply and demand chain.

2. Same display size and resolution: The analyst tipped that Apple would still release 4.7-inch displays with 750 x 1334 pixels and 5.5-inch screens having 1080 x 1920 pixels. He also maintained that there won't be a 4-inch iPhone version this year.

3. Additional rose-gold color: The color was said to be similar to the Apple Watch Edition.

4. 12 MP camera

5. One additional microphone near the speaker to improve voice quality

6. A9 processor with upgraded 2 GB LPDDR4

7. Different casing materials and internal mechanical design: This was intended to address bending issues.

8. Limited number of 5.5-inch variants having sapphire cover lens: This would only happen on the condition that the drop test could be resolved.

9. Touch ID with improved recognition rate: This was intended to promote Apple Pay.

10. Gesture control support

No.1 thing people are concerned

However, what was said to be missing in the analyst's tip was that there was "no mention of any improvements where battery life is concerned." The battery life was reportedly the "No. 1 thing people are concerned."

A smartphone that comes out with a battery that could last as long as possible is the feature that is reportedly "more important than any other." Further, the iPhone 6 was seen having a "terrible battery life" than the other high-end smartphones in the market, which a certain "battery life test" reportedly showed the iPhone 6 to last only 5 hours and 22 minutes compared to the top device that gave 9 hours and 29 minutes of performance.

Since Ming-Chi Kuo did not mention any upgrade about the battery, fans could expect the same performance once it gets released.

BGR stated, "Bottom line: battery life is important, but Apple's iPhones are so good in so many areas that the overwhelming majority of people are happy to sacrifice battery life," in which the publication ended that "people won't care at all."

The iPhone 6s is slated to be released on September 2015.
