The Voice Season 8's finale next Tuesday has reviewers and fans predicting a Fredericks Sawyer no-surprise win especially now that Team Christina's power performers have finally bowed out with the elimination of India Carney last week.
TV Line referred to the upcoming Voice finale as "Sawyer Fredericks' upcoming May 19 coronation ceremony" as the successor to previous season's winner Craig Wayne Boyd.
Guitar-toting Fredericks was the first artist declared safe in last week's results show. Us Magazine refers to the announcement of Team Pharrell's bet going to the finals as "no surprise to viewers" owing to Fredericks already being a regular on the iTunes charts.
Music Times also referred to Sawyer as having "insane support" shown at his performance before 10,000 people when went home to his small New York farm town.
The other big story from last week's results was the exit of all Team Christina's powerhouse R&B belters upon the elimination of India Carney.
Music Times recalls a point in the season when Christina Aguilera seemed to be a shoe-in for winning the current season as she kept her team intact week after week. However, her lone remaining bet kept finding herself in the bottom two over the last couple of weeks. Carney's being called again to sing for her save was apparently the last straw for the belter. Music Times notes "You could tell that India had given up to some extent. Normally a pillar of strength, there were tears in her eyes and a frown on her face, holding back what seemed like bigger sobs."
Carney's giving up was seen to show through her Instant Save performance of Kelly Clarkson's Dark Side. She did not get enough support on Twitterverse which instead gave the fourth finalist slot to Koryn Hawthorne, also of Team Pharrell.
Rounding up the final four are Team Blake's Meghan Linsey and Team Adam's Joshua Davis.
The Voice Season 8 finale performance episode airs Monday at 8pm on NBC and the results on Tuesday.
