The upcoming "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" film hinted a possible cameo from actor Daniel Craig. This report came directly from Simon Pegg, who was previously rumored to appear in the film.
According to Screen Crush, Pegg denied his involvement in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." However, in doing so, he somehow confirmed Craig's upcoming cameo. During his recent appearance at the "Man Up" premiere in London, Pegg spoke with The Sun to deny that he could potentially play Stormtrooper in the franchise.
"I wasn't a Stormtrooper. Daniel Craig, he was a Stormtrooper... I shouldn't have said that," he said. Following Pegg's shocking revelation, an insider revealed that indeed, Craig asked Abrams for a secret cameo in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
"Fans will love trying to work out which covered up character is him," the insider said. Meanwhile, Craig recently returned to filming his upcoming movie "Spectre" after recently suffering from a knee injury.
Other celebrities who will be taking part in the film include Lupita Nyong'o, who will play the role of an alien pirate named Maz Kanata, Adam Driver, who will play the role of Kylo Ren and Oscar Isaac, who will play the role of Poe Dameron.
In other news, there have been reports that Abrams will be pulling out several major references to things in the upcoming "Star Wars" installment. According to him, some of these references were pulled out because they felt as though they were trying too hard to explain something, Den of Geek reported.
"The key is that references be essential so that you don't reference a lot of things that feel like, oh, we're laying pipe for, you know, an animated series or further movies. It should feel like things are being referenced for a reason," Abrams told Vanity Fair.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is slated for release in the United States on Dec. 18.
