'Mad Max: Fury Road' Released, Garners $44.5M in 1st Week Box Office Records

'What a lovely day' it was indeed when fans of Mad Max: Fury Road has finally seen the movie during its initial and official release last week. Even critics are very happy about it.

Despite the fact that the movie is very exhilarating and exhausting in its own sense, being it that it's a hardcore post-apocalyptic action film, it seems that the movie is having really good responses from everyone who has seen it. Definitely it's the year for our Kennedy Miller Productions and Village Roadshow Pictures as the remake of the 1979 franchise kicked in hard and rough.

Starred by the hunk villain Bane on The Dark Knight Rises, Tom Hardy, alongside Aeon Flux and Snow White and the Huntsman evil queen Charlize Theron, and X-men's Beast Nicholas Hoult, with a bunch of desert-ridden crazies in white paint and complicated weapons (we can't deny our love to that guitar-flamethrower), match it with mastermind director George Miller, known for our long-loved Happy Feet, this is definitely the action movie of the year.

The film centers of the action-man Max and action-woman Furiosa trying to restore order from a desolate waste-land. They fight their own way to survival since humanity in general is no longer on the heaps of their own sanity. Everyone is crazier than the other.

The budget was estimated to have run about 140 million dollars. The initial gross, in its first week, went to about 44 million and a half dollars in the USA alone.

The USA premiere of the film was on Hollywood, California during May 7th, followed in Australia five days after. The official release was on last May 15th in the rest of the US and most parts of Europe and Asia. Fans in Japan would still have to wait until May 20th. And it's only until May 21st that Cambodian and Hungarian fans could see it. Polish fans should wait until May 22nd.

While the hype is still on, Mad Max fans all over the world could still catch up and feel the heat of newest worldwide action phenomenon. It is until summer that the fury of the road will stop, or better say, pause, until the next of the franchise is released soon.
