The "Entourage" gang's comeback is nothing short of big time as the HBO series hits the cinemas on June 3. The movie will see Ari Gold starting a career as a movie producer and invests on Vincent Chase's directorial debut. Will he be successful in this new film?
HBO's "Entourage" is set for a theatrical release, which story follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) as a movie star, who's taking his career to the next level through his directorial debut while Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) sponsors it.
However, Vincent's $100 million movie goes beyond its budget and Ari will try to salvage the production by securing financing from billionaire Larsen McCredle (Billy Bob Thornton) and his son Travis (Haley Joel Osment). While, Vincent doesn't seem too interested his movie's fate, Ari takes his movie producer job seriously and deals with movie-related problems with his grumpy attitude.
The movie is actually teased way before 2011, during the "Entourage" series finale on HBO, which saw Ari quitting show business to save his marriage with Melissa (Perry Reeves) and moving to Italy to start their life anew. However, during the end credits, Ari received via call a job proposal to run Warner Bros. The movie implies that perhaps, Ari accepted the offer that made the series blossom into a movie.
A 4-minute "Entourage" short film was also released and was sponsored by Cadillac. It serves as the movie's prequel and an advertisement for the automobile. The short presents Ari and Melissa's life in Italy and how the former misses his previous life and work. After the 4-minute mark, Ari is seen driving the luxury car screaming "I'm back" that only signifies his return to show business.
"Entourage" will see Ari Gold, Vincent Chase, and the rest of the gang back in Hollywood, with Chase pursuing a directorial career while Ari aims to be his successful producer. The movie drops on cinemas on June 3, distributed by Warner Bros.
