The script for "28 Months Later" is already on the works as the sequel of "28 Weeks Later" was confirmed to be produced earlier this month. According to new reports, despite the film that "28 Months Later" follows based the story on "28 Days Later" by Alex Garland, the third installment is said to be getting a lot of input from the first film's writer.
"28 Months Later" will be taking off from the story of a cult of zombies and despite Alex Garland not wanting a sequel of his film "28 Days Later," the directors and the producers of the upcoming flick will still use his story. Garland will not be taking part of the sequel's production but his story will be the basis of the screenplay for "28 Months Later."
The third sequel was kept in wraps for a while as Alex Garland, director Danny Boyle, executive producer Andrew McDonald, and Fox Searchlight Pictures argued leading to the prevention of the production of "28 Months Later." Garland will not be penning the script for the third installment but it is all his idea for this sequel.
It has been over a decade since the first installment hit the theatres and the script for "28 Months Later" is already on the works according to reports. The film is still in a very early stage as per pre-production and no word has been out yet regarding who will direct the film, who will be starring in the film, and when will it be watched by its loyal fans.
"28 Weeks Later," which was out in 2007, ended with the virus breaking out once again so it is not yet clear if the next installment will follow after the latest ending or if it will purely be based on the first installment of the film.
There is still no release date for "28 Months Later" and no other available information as to when filming will start and who will the cast members be? Do you think a third installment would be welcomed by the fans of the show or should the producers not continue with the production of "28 Months Later?" Sound off in the comments below!
