iOS 9 prevents early iPhone 6s August release date even if hardware is more than enough?

By

Component manufacturers claimed that parts for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are "so good" that Apple could release them as early as August. However, there is one factor that could hold back the early roll out date: the readiness of the iOS 9.

iPhone 6s August release date

Industry insiders recently tipped that components for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is "so good" that Apple could release the flagship devices as early as August than the usual September roll out date. Further, Apple reportedly began increasing component orders, indicating that the company might be aiming for an early release date or gearing up for a new sales record.

Is the iOS 9 ready?

However, there is also a possibility that the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus could still be released on September, and not on August, even if supplies are more than enough. The hardware may be ready, but the software might not be.

This is because Apple usually releases its next iOS to developers, which is speculated to be the iOS 9, after the WWDC. The company will then have to wait for feedbacks for some changes and improvements needed, especially that Apple is known for its "obsession for fine tuning." Others are not sure if the company would have enough time, until August, to create an iOS 9 that meets their standards. Nevertheless, an August release would be a welcome.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus features

KGI Securities analyst Ming Chi-Kuo previously tipped that Apple would be making big improvements on their next iPhone 6s line up, claiming at least 10 features:

1. Force Touch. This would enhance user experience because of its more input methods and support of handwritten signatures.

2. 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch versions having similar display resolutions to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

3. An additional casing color of rose gold, matching the casing color of the Apple Watch.

4. Upgraded pixel for the camera into 12 MP.

5. Another microphone to be added near the speaker to improve voice quality.

6. A9 processor with upgraded 2 GB LPDDR4.

7. Different casing materials and internal mechanical design tweaks to address bending issue.

8. Sapphire cover lens for limited number of 5.5-inch versions would be produced on the bases that drop test issues can be resolved.

9. Improved Touch ID recognition rate in order to further promote Apple Pay.

10. Gesture control support

Apple is yet to make official statements about the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
