The 10-second Doom Reboot trailer released by Bethesda is more of a teaser, with the complete details to be released 2 days before the E3 opening on June 16. The Elder Scrolls publisher Bethesda confirmed that it is hosting an event at the annual video game convention this year, and it's making an earlier announcement for its big revelation which could be the Doom.
Bethesda announced that it will be hosting its own event at this year's E3. This will be a first time for the company but it's not timid on setting its own stage which is only for its biggest reveal. What's that many speculates it to be the Doom Reboot, besides Fallout 4.
When the Doom was shown at Quakecon in 2014, there were very limited reports published about it due to exclusivity policy. Printing screens were not even allowed. This year's E3 will be the perfect event to showcase the Doom Reboot, and if Bethesda will do it right it can make a good impression not only to the games press but to the world's media.
The reboot which is being developed by id Software is said to bring back all the elements that made the Doom so iconic. Given the wide gap since the game was updated, this reboot version should be big enough for it to deserve its own stage.
Fallout 4, Dishonored 2, Battlecry, Rage, The Elder Scroll franchise, Prey 2, Wolfenstein and The Evil Within, Quake, and a new IP are among other games that are being speculated to be the big reveal at the E3 event this year. Both the Fallout 4 and Dishonored 2 are a big hit and it's going to be well-received should Bethesda release updated versions of these games. The rest may need some improvements as per gamers feedback so it's either they'll be scheduled for later release or shelved for good.
Bethesda is also entering a territory that Activision and Nintendo have abandoned in the recent years. Yes, it will have a show and while it may not be like those massive gigs featuring A-list Hollywood entertainers, it does have plenty of Hollywood connections as it is owned by Zenimax Media. Some famous faces thus can be be expected at the event either to present or simply add glamor.
First the Doom gameplay teaser, now the upcoming announcement at E3, and soon the release date of the reboot version before the year ends so it arrives to PC, PS4 and Xbox One. These are the things that can be expected from Bethesda as far as the Doom is concerned. That is if its developers get out of the reported trouble it's been dealing with for 7 years now.
