LG Introduces 5.7-inch G4 Stylus and 5.0-inch G4c as Alternative to LG G4; Specs and Pricing Revealed as LG G4 Prepares for Worldwide Release

Taking the cue from competitors, LG is set to release two new iterations of its latest flagship phone: the G4 Stylus and the G4c.

The South Korean multinational company announced that it is launching the two new versions of the LG G4 to cater to customers who want a larger or a smaller size of the current flagship. The specs for both the LG G4 Stylus and the LG G4c are not exactly the same as the LG G4, and some of them are a bit on the down side.

They run on Android 5.0, compared to the LG G4's 5.1 Android OS, and do not have the leather-back option. The LG G4 Stylus and the LG G4 only has 1 GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, although it is expandable via microSD.

The chipset and GPU on the 5-inch LG G4c is not yet confirmed, although it is going to have a Quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU. The 5.7-inch LG G4 Stylus has a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. The LTE model has a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and an Adreno 306, while the 3G model has an Octa-core 1.4 GHz CPU.

The camera of the LG G4, which gained widespread positive response, is not present in either unit. The LG G4 Stylus sporting a 13MP main camera and an 8MP front clicker, while the LG G4c has an 8MP primary camera and a 5MP secondary one. The LG G4 Stylus is priced at about US$540, while the LG G4c goes for around $390.

Launched in South Korea on 28 April and priced at $650 (depending on the carrier or distributor), the LG G4 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset with two CPUS: a dual-core 1.82 GHz Cortex-A57 and a quad-core 1.44 GHz Cortex-A53; an Adreno 418 GPU, and 3GB RAM.

This 5.3-inch LTE-ready smartphone has an internal memory of 32GB which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It comes with a 16MP main camera and a 8MP secondary camera. A removable 3,500 mAH provides power to this Android 5.0 unit. It uses a nano-sim, and comes with a stylus as well.

The LG G4 is 148.9 x 76.5 x 9.9mm in dimension, and has a curved back design with a large camera lens cover. It has leather and plastic housing variants.

The announcement came as the LG G4 prepares to roll out in key markets such as Hong Kong, Turkey, Russia and Singapore. By June, the LG G4 will be arriving in the rest of Europe and North America, CIS, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South Central America.
