Game of Thrones' Jason Momoa may have left the "The Magnificent Seven" production but two other stars join the Antoine Fuqua remake. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Martin Sensmeier hops aboard to co-star with Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke.
The reception of the news about "The Magnificent Seven" remake was initially not that magnificent. But Sony Pictures did not lose heart and still managed to tap some serious and veteran actors to be part of the film.
However, the remake hit another bump again with the recent withdrawal of "Game of Thrones" alum Jason Momoa from the film. According to a report, Momoa most likely detached himself from "The Magnificent Seven" remake due to conflicting schedules.
As most DC fans already know, Jason Momoa was picked to play Aquaman in the highly-anticipated "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Sony will now have to look for Jason's replacement as the new henchman of the movie's main villain, Fuqua, who will be played by Peter Sarsgaard.
Two actors are also set to star alongside a star-studded ensemble after Jason Momoa's exit from "The Magnificent Seven." Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who also appeared in Jennifer Aniston-starred movie "Cake," will play Vasquez in the remake. Martin Sensmeier on the other hand, is set to portray Red Harvest. Seinsmeier is known for his role in WGN America's TV series, "Salem."
The original film was released in 1960 and centered on the lives of seven gunslingers who act as protectors of a small Mexican village against thieves.
Antoine Fuqua will sit on the director's chair of "The Magnificent Seven" remake while "True Detective" creator NicPizzolatto penned the script, which was rewritten by John Lee Hancock.
Sony Pictures continues to make "The Magnificent Seven" happen, bringing in Manuel Garcia-Rulfo and Martin Sensmeier to join a quite magnificent ensemble led by Denzel Washinton, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke. Jason Momoa had to leave the film due to conflicting schedules.
"The Magnificent Seven" hits theaters on January 13, 2017.
