CD Projekt Red steadfastly tackles comments coming from critics and gamers about the apparent "downgraded" visuals of the Wticher 3: Wild Hunt. The game developer pointed out that lesser visuals of the game are not intentional as budget restrictions for a succesful multiplatform release is to blame.
The downgrade issue came about when gamers began comparing the game's actual graphics to the 2013 trailer, which was impressive. Gamers and critics began to attack CD Projekt Red as intentionally downgrading the game to churn up more money from the hype. However, Marcin Iwinski, company co-founder said through Eurogamer that the lesser graphics seen in the Witcher 3: Wild hunt is not intentional.
"...We don't agree there is a downgrade but it's our opinion, and gamers' feeling can be different. If they made their purchasing decision based on the 2013 materials, I'm deeply sorry for that, and we are discussing how we can make it up to them because that's not fair."
Iwinski also show a somewhat regretful aura about showing the said 2013 trailer of the game and many complain about the game company's "false advertising" campaign.
"Maybe we shouldn't have shown that [trailer], I don't know, but we didn't know that it wasn't going to work, so it's not a lie or a bad will - that's why we didn't comment actively.
However, the latest 1.06 patch, which is now available, will resolve some of the graphical issues but not extensively. Nevertheless, the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has a massive amount of content and gameplay that people who appreciate the story will find the graphics issue of lesser importance. The Witcher 3 boasts a massive universe where gamers can explore every inch of the detailed world CD Projekt Red had created.
Though the graphics issue was a blow to the company, CD Projekt Red is still going strong as the Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is still considered a marvel of open world game and one of the best RPG titles to ever been created. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
