There's no Crash Bandicoot release coming for PS4 this year, in contrary to what the leaked image of the franchise, which features Converse-wearing rodent, is suggesting. No matter how many gamers wanted it to be true, the reasons that tell it isn't are there in the image too.
Let's begin with Naughty Dog which is listed as the developer of the rumored new Crash Bandicoot. The studio is currently focused on Unchartered 4: A Thief's End, not to mention the game's curernt publisher is Activisation, not Sony. It has to buy the rights from Activisation first, as it is currently owns the Crash series to make the exclusive release for PS4 possible.
While the silhouette of the protagonist, according to Push Square, is a stock image grabbed from a previous game. If the studio is going to release a new version of Crash Bandicoot for PS4, a new artwork must at least be used for the teaser.
So is Crash Bandicoot PS4 Release impossible? May be not, especially that Sony is aware of the still high demand for this game. Some gamers even find a "remastered" Crash series all in one desk a great buy. And while Activisation holds the rights to the series, the same source is convinced that Sony "held countless discussions with the publisher about the possibility of buying them back."
Meanwhile, Cartoon Survivor is coming on App store on May 28. Cartoon Survivor's protagonist, Doo Doo has to make it to the end of each level before the dynamite that's fused to its back detonates.
Now players have three time options for the fuse to detonate by. Each Time has a corresponding star rating. Coins can be used to buy helmets and costumes, but crushing into obstacles will make players lose coins and slow down as well.
This mobile-based game is inspired by late-1990's 3D platformers, thus the TouchArcade's observation that this game is more like Crash Bandicoot than "yet another game aping Crossy Road."
Crash Bandicoot, as a legend platform game from the 90's, is no doubt an inspiration. That fact will not change regardless if the rumored PS4 release may or not happen soon.
