The upcoming second season of "Attack of the Titans" will introduce a new set of characters, namely, Beast Titan, Captain Kenny Ackerman and Rod Reiss. The sophomore series will also introduce new plot twists.

According to Yibada, Captain Kenny Ackerman will serve as the leader of the first interior squad and anti-personnel control team. The character will take center stage in the uprising arc that will help reveal the true identities of Eren, Captain Levi and Krizta Lenz.

Rod Reiss, meanwhile, will play the role of Uri Reiss' brother. He will assume the role of the latter following his death. According to reports, Rod will not have any desire to possess the power of the Coordinate. Rather, he will give this task to his children.

The Beast Titan will be introduced as a character that will have the ability to communicate with other people. He will also have the power to turn human beings into titans. Meanwhile, there have been reports that the upcoming release of "The Attack of the Titans" season 2 will be moved to 2016 instead of this year.

Voice actors Yui Ishikawa, Yuuki Kaji and Marina Inoue confirmed the news and said that the delay had something to do with the creators' decision to include more chapters to the series, Venture Capital Post reported.

The upcoming season 2 promises to have less fillers in terms of content compared to season 1. This decision came about after fans urged the series to remain true to its original 15 volumes format. Additionally, fans of "Attack of the Titans" will be pleased to know that a movie is currently in the works.

Fittingly called "Attack on Titan," the 2015 film will chronicle the life of Eren Yeager, a young boy who is determined to create change in the world, the movie's Imdb page noted.

Also according to the site, Eren will serve as humanity's last hope to save them from the terrors of the titans.
