iOS 9 is set to take the iPad Pro to greater heights. Once available, not only do you get a bigger-screened tablet, you go home with one that could have other people use it while you do. Sounds amazing right?
The feature which in theory stretches the functionality of the Apple tablet to include more users at once really shows off what the device is capable of. But the million dollar question could be: Does it really add to the functionality or just diminishes its effectivity as a device? When more capable computers don't flaunt such?
In a recent report, Apple's trust to bring in split-screen multitasking and multi-user support is due to be available once the much-hyped iPad Pro arrives. The journey to arrive at these outstanding features have, as the report detail, been started even before iOS 9 and its future release.
It is said that code buried deep within iOS 8 is already capable of arranging multiple views. Not only that, you get to have a choice of covering ½, 1/3 or 2/3 of the screen.
So with this side-by-side showing, a user will be able to put on display two apps simultaneously. Not bad if you're running a social media tool and watching a movie at the same time.
But it gets even more ostentatious, we dare say.
Two apps, chicken. Want more? Try two users or more.
In another report, Apple is refining its multi-user login support feature which the next iPad iteration is set to carry. With this feature, a single device like the iPad Pro will carry more than one profile. Meaning: other users with a profile in your device could use your device. Each profile will also have their own distinct taste as configured - its own set of apps and documents.
All the rumors and speculations is expected to come to a head at this year's Apple WWDC (Worldwide Developer's Conference) scheduled June 8-12 in San Francisco where all these outstanding iPad Pro features could be made public.
Operative word: could.
While these extended usability features sound spectacular, there is a lot of "watching-out" to do on how well the market will receive the features. To note, no PC or Mac - even with their greater computing prowess - has boasted such or choose to don such.
Rumors point to a fall launching for the bigger iPad iteration - on the heels of a possible earlier iOS 9 public introduction. Again, no official announcement has been made by the Cupertino-tech giant with regards to the much more empowered iPad Pro.
