"Outlander" is gearing up for season two, as the show premieres its season one finale this coming Saturday, May 30 on Starz. While the cast and crew have kept mum about spoilers for the upcoming season, Ron Moore recently announced that the time traveler series will be at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con. "Outlander" season two will cover Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber" from her eight-book series. The cast and crew of the Starz time traveler series have already begun filming for the upcoming season, which remains to be filmed in Scotland. As most book fans know, Gabaldon's second book introduces several new characters including Brianna and Roger.
Several reports previously claimed that there is a high possibility that new cast members will be announced at the 2015 San Diego Comic-Con on July 9-12, 2015. At the recent "A Tartan Affair" event in Los Angeles, showrunner Ron Moore confirmed that "Outlander" will have its presence during the said event. Moore, however, did not reveal any more details as to whether or not additional cast members for season two will be announced during the event.
Meanwhile, several fans are wondering if there will be more "Doctor Who" crossover episodes in the upcoming season. The show recently aired a crossover episode last May 16. Frazer Hines, who played as Jamie MacCrimmon in the BBC series starred as the governor of Wentworth Prison, Sir Fletcher Gordon in "Outlander."
Zap2It noted that there is a high possibility that there will be more "Doctor Who" and "Outlander" crossover episodes because Gabaldon has referenced to several characters from the BBC series in her other books. The outlet cited that officer Lethbridge-Stewart is a reference to Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from "Doctor Who" and his role remains in "The Sarah Jane Adventures."
