It's been confirmed. Rise of the Tomb Raider is still an Xbox 'Timed' exclusive.

While it has been posted January of last year, in a facebook page of Xbox Australia, that the game, a follow-up to the rebooted Lara Croft series, shall be an exclusive with Xbox, and no other platforms shall be used aside from such.

It was said in the page: "And for those wondering; Rise of the Tomb Raider will be an Xbox exclusive. Not Timed exclusive but exclusive."

This announcement meant that the game will only be released for Xbox, and no other brands such as PS4 will be having the game until forever.

Though, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has clarified the issue, stating that the game is in fact "Timed."

"There has been no change to our deal on Tomb Raider," he said in a tweet. "Same as before when I answered. Timed."

In another tweet, he said, "We are working with Crystal Dynamics on Tomb Raider to make it great on Xbox this Holiday; that's our goal and 100 percent of our focus."

The game was announced in reports as an Xbox exclusive for the holiday season this year. Spencer furthermore clarified that the deal with Square Enix, its distributor, was due on a certain period of time. This means that we will also be seeing the game outside Xbox, either on Xbox One or Xbox 360.

Furthermore, Microsoft will be taking over with the upcoming release of the game this year for both Xbox brands. They will handle the publishing, marketing and distribution of the game. This is due to the dissatisfaction of Square Enix towars the sales of the game. Though there has been no release date confirmed yet, it's been said that Microsoft will reveal details in the E3 event next month.
