"The Winds of Winter" is probably one of the most-awaited books to come out since George RR Martin released "A Dance with Dragons" in 2011. While Martin is known for his slow pace in writing, the 66-year-old author promised that the sixth book in his "A Song of Ice and Fire" series will be released before "Game of Thrones" airs its sixth season on TV. This has led several fans to come up with several theories, including the identity behind the dragon's third head. Is Tyrion the dragon's third head?

"A Dance with Dragons" left many fans in suspense following the gruesome encounter between Jon Snow and the men of the Night's Watch. The mystery remains, as George RR Martin still has not released the sixth book to the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. Martin previously explained that he has already cancelled appearances for two conventions and has already turned down several interviews to give more time and attention into finishing "The Winds of Winter."

Martin previously said that he hopes to release "The Winds of Winter" before the HBO series, "Game of Thrones" season 6 airs on TV. Book fans are well aware that the series is almost catching up to Martin's books and it wouldn't come as a surprise if the show has already aired several scenes from the sequel to "A Dance with Dragons." Several reports came out, however, that Martin will be releasing book six of "A Song Ice and Fire" series on June 2016.

While fans are left with no option but to wait for Martin to finish wrapping up "Winds of Winter," several fans began theorizing on who are the dragon's three heads. It has been widely believed that Daenerys and Jon Snow are the two heads of the dragons, but there is ongoing debate among fans over the identity of the dragon's third head.

Young Griff used to be the popular choice among fans, especially because he seems to be the real Aegon Targaryen; however, his character did not appear in "Game of Thrones," which led many fans to speculate that his character did not hold as much importance to the series. Tyrion Lannister is also another popular choice as the dragon's third head. Several fans have long been speculating that Tyrion was a secret Targaryen, but all of these remain nothing but mere speculations until George Martin releases "The Winds of Winter."
