Sony has postponed the initial release of The Amazing Spiderman spinoff Sinister Six. The upcoming movie was supposed to be released on November 9, 2016 but decided otherwise. There's still no definite release date but Sony assured that Sinister Six is still ongoing.
Sony first announced the initial release in 2016 instead of The Amazing Spiderman 3, pushing back the third installment of The Amazing Spiderman for two years.
It is said that the cancellation of the initial date for Sinister Six is because of the relationship between Spiderman star Andrew Garfield and Sony. The Sony hacking incident might also play with the decision which was great a blow for the company's reputation and financial stability.
Sinister Six was planned to focus on the evilness and the lives of the six villains of Spiderman's life. If Spiderman will have an appearance in the movie, no one knows yet. They are still in talks for this.
On the other news, Sony has allowed for Spiderman to go back to its home, Marvel. But Spiderman rights are still owned by Sony Pictures. Marvel and Sony had a negotiation that lets Spiderman go back to the Marvel Universe.
Sony still owns the Spiderman feature right comic book. As regards to the Marvel Universe, in a leaked Sony e-mail, Drew Goddard seems to plan to use the Savage Land.
"I suggest you guys get in a room this morning and go over [Drew's] pitch and what is in Savage Land comics and make sure we are okay and not in a situation where they can find any foot faults," Producer Amy Pascal reportedly wrote in the email.
According to Youth Health Mag, Savage Land is a fictional tropical region in Antarctica created over 200 million years ago by the alien race named Nuwali. It is surrounded by volcanoes. It is home to dinosaurs and the dwelling place of Marvel superhero Ka-Zar.
Surely, Sinister Six will push through. Let's just hope for more updates in the incoming days.
