"Attack on Titan" season 1 ended in 2013 and fans can no longer wait to see the upcoming installment to the franchise. There have been reports that "Attack on Titan" will be released sometime in 2016. Director Tetsuro Araki explained the delay in the release of season 2 during a recent press conference.
According to Tetsuro Araki, "Attack on Titan" manga is a two-story arcs short. Additionally, Araki said that the franchise is tied with all of their other engagements this year so this slowed down the production of the anime series.
"Attack on Titan" season 1 already covered the first 34 chapters of the manga which totals four story arcs namely, "The Fall of Shiganshina," "104th Training Squad," "Battle of Trost District" and "The Female Titan," Yibada noted. Meanwhile, there are some speculations as to the plot or direction of "Attack on Titan" season 2.
According to Latin Times, the anime will chronicle the lives of the 104th Trainees Squad and their fight against the Titans. The second installment will also focus on the overthrowing of the king because of dire corruption. The Uprising will be led by Erwin Smith.
In other news, two live-action movies will be released for "Attack on Titan" this year. Both movies will star actual people and will cover the entire first season of the anime for the big screen.
The first of the two movies is entitled, "Attack on Titan Part 1: Crimson Bow and Arrows" and the second movie is called, "Attack on Titan Part 2: Wings of Freedom."
A teaser for the upcoming films has already been released and the first movie is slated for release in the United States this coming August 1. The second film will be released in the U.S. on September 19, Crossmap reported.
