As fans await for the highly anticipated launch of "Star Wars: Battlefront," EA DICE made a few announcements earlier on how they planned to make the game's graphics as close to the "Star Wars" movies as possible.
EA DICE technical director Ken Brown made the exciting announcement on the "Star Wars: Battlefront" webpage. He said that "say you have some Stormtrooper armor. If you take the time to set that up correctly based on the rough physical values it should have, suddenly you have a Stormtrooper that will work in any environment it's put in. Then we don't need to worry about tweaking every single environment and texture depending on the context," based on a report from SoftPedia.
Brown was referring to the Physical Based Rendering, which would be one of the techniques used to "allow the studio to render images while taking into account physical properties and laws." Physical Based Rendering would also be used to "deliver better light use and to make all surfaces seem like they have unique properties."
Meanwhile, "Star Wars: Battlefront" would be using the very popular engine used by many game developers in EA DICE; that engine would be Frostbite, based on a report from RealtyToday. In fact, "Star Wars: Battlefront" would not only be the game from EA DICE to use the Frostbite engine but also "Need for Speed 2015: Reboot."
EA DICE Frostbite Engine Technical Director Johan Andersson shared this news on Twitter that immediately charged up avid fans of the popular race simulation game. On the other hand, the game's developer, Ghost Games, remained silent at the moment regarding the upcoming game's title as well as its details. Then again, a few members of the gaming community were able to uncover minute details on the game like "open-world, day-to-night racer with deep customization features."
Both games were expected to be launched during fall 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and the PC.
