King Kong fans are probably excited for the upcoming movie 'Kong: Skull Island', which will star Thor: Ragnarok star Tom Hiddleston, J.K. Simmons, and Michael Keaton and will finally reveal the story about the origins of the big ape monster, King Kong.
Expectations are rising for the upcoming King Kong prequel as Tom Hiddleston, who will play as the lead human character, dished that the film's director, Jordan Vogt-Roberts had an extraordinary vision about the film.
"His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' you've never seen before, and it's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes." Hiddleston said.
Kong: Skull Island will reportedly be a prequel of the previous 3 King Kong Films. Simmons revealed that the story will be set in 1971 Detroit, and that it will be shot during the baseball season. Aside from that, it has also been reported that the movie will involve a chemical company, and that it might reveal why King Kong became gigantic. A rescue mission which includes flashbacks will also reportedly be a part of the film.
The movie's synopsis reveals that the story will evolve around a team of explorers that will venture into the island where King Kong lives. An excerpt of the movie synopsis read:
"Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), "Kong: Skull Island" will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary's story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline."
Kong: Skull Island hits theaters in March 10, 2017 and will be released in 3D and IMAX by Universal Pictures.
